35 Men (21 spots remain)

14 Seniors (7 spots remain)

FIFG FOOTGOLF WORLD CUP ORLANDO 2023 QUALIFICATION PROCESS

There will be two (2) ways for a player to qualify for an individual spot on Team USA at the FIFG FootGolf World Cup ORLANDO 2023:

  • AUTOMATIC - Individual World Cup spots can be earned at the following events by placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall, depending on age and gender category:

    • Michigan 250

    • Desert Willow 250

    • The Nationals 500

*Please note - This is not a sliding spot as in the past. If a current Team USA player finishes in the Automatic qualification positions, the spot WILL NOT be awarded to the next available non-qualified player.

*Must be a minimum of 6 players registered within the category for the automatic spot to be awarded.

  • WORLD CUP SHOOTOUT - A player pool will be created from the top finishing players at the U.S. Open 2022, Michigan 250, Desert Willow 250, The Nationals 2022, and 2022 AFGL Tour Rankings. The players that earn their spots into the pool will be invited to a World Cup Shootout event where they will play for the remaining individual spots on Team USA at the FIFG FootGolf World Cup ORLANDO 2023.

* All individual World Cup spots will be earned by the players themselves..

The members of the Team USA Committee will only be involved in selecting the players that will compete in the National Team Category at the FIFG FootGolf World Cup ORLANDO 2023.

* Team USA Committee can select up to 3 Captain's Picks to be entered into the World Cup Shootout. The picks will not be given an automatic spot and can only qualify for Team USA via the World Cup Shootout event.

* More spots for the Team USA Players Pool will be available.

Earned spots are invitations to join the national players pool and players participation is voluntary.

Players are expected to cover their own costs associated with participation in Team USA. If any cost gets covered by the American FootGolf Federation it will be based on funds raised for Team USA through sponsorship or donation.

Players who are unable to join Team USA for any reason, will be replaced by the Team USA Player Selection Committee.

Players' invitation could be withdrawn at any time by the AFGF Board for breach of the AFGL Tour Player Code of Conduct or any other reason.

Player Selection Committee

Team USA

The American FootGolf Federation formally announces the formation of the

Player Selection Committee (PSC).

The American FootGolf Federation (AFGF) would like to formally announce the formation of the Player Selection Committee (PSC). The creation of this committee is to help establish a competitive and fair process for selection of the U.S. National FootGolf Team (Team USA) spots for all events (ex, FIFG FootGolf World Cup, Jansen Cup, FIFG World Champions Cup).

Players who qualify to represent Team USA will receive priority for selection, but the PSC finalizes the selection by:

  1. Certifying minimum eligibility criteria are met such as Nationality as well as review of Evaluative Events (ex, Tournaments)

  2. Evaluation of Performance (ex, technical, psychological) and other subjective considerations (ex, teamwork, integrity, communication)

In addition, not all selected Team USA players are able to attend all international events and part of the role of the PSC is to also select players for vacant or extra spots based on criteria above.

The 2022-2023 Team USA Committee consists of Team USA Captain Nick Wallace, Team USA Vice Captain Sean McNamara and Team USA Manager Alex Rasmussen. Please contact them if you have any questions.

The AFGF believes that this is a step forward in the evolution of US FootGolf and in helping select the very best Team USA.
